High Mast Light

Towering beacons for expansive brilliance, efficiently illuminating large areas and sports arenas with unmatched height and functionality. Elevate your lighting experience with precision and power.

High Mast Light

Usage:

Designed for illuminating vast areas, Axis High Mast Lights are ideal for stadiums, airports, industrial zones, and large public spaces, providing powerful and uniform lighting coverage.

Benefits:

1. Expansive Illumination: Offering towering height, these poles efficiently light up large areas, ensuring visibility and safety in spaces requiring broad and intense illumination.
2. Versatility:
Suited for various applications, from sports arenas to industrial complexes, Axis High Mast Lights provide adaptable lighting solutions for diverse expansive environments.

A High mast lighting today preferred over conventional lighting, Especially where large areas are to be illuminated. This system eliminated the need for numerous lighting columns which, under certain circumstances, can pose hazardous to movement. This is possible because the high mast lighting system achieves very large space to height ratios.

High mast lighting is ideal for industrial or commercial areas, docks, airports, flyovers, stations, car parks and even some hazardous areas. All of these require the best possible lighting with minimum interference from the installation itself combined with case of maintenance.

Mast Structure:

High mast is continuously tapered : Polygonal cross section 12 to 20 sides fabricated from special steel plates and is delivered at site in sections. Sections are joined together by slip stress-fit method and are provided with fully penetrated and welded flange.

The design is based on proven in-tension design conforming to the Technical Report No 7 -1996, institution of Lighting Engineers UK. This ensures assured performance and reliable services. The structure is suitable for loading as per IS 875 (Part 3) 1987.

Construction:

High mast is fabricated from steel plates conforming to BSEN 10025, GR-S255 JO or equivalent as per customer's requirement, cut and folded to form a polygonal section. Masts come in two sections for 16 - 20 Mtr and in three sections for 25 - 30 Mtrs heights and are only longitudinally welded, conforming to BS 5135/AWS.

Mast Structure Construction

The mast is provided with a fully penetrated flange, which is free from any laminations or incursions. The welded connection of the base flange is fully developed to the strength of the entire section. The base flange is provided with supplementary gussets between bolt holes to ensure elimination of helical stress conectration.

For environmental protection of the mast, the entire fabricated mast is Hot dip Galvanized (Single Dip) internally and externally, that results in uniform coating thickness of 65 to 85 as per sheet thickness & maintaining BSEN ISO 1461 or equivalent.

Door :

An adequate door opeing is provided at the base of the mast. The opening is such that it permits clear access to equipment like winch, cable, wire rope, plug & socket etc and also facilitates easy removal of the winch for servicing the door opening is complete with a close fitting vandal resistant Allen key locking with provision for external lock. The door opening is carefully designed and reinforced with adequate steel section so that the mast section at the base is unaffected and undue bucking of the cut portion is prevented under heavy wind condition.

Dynamic Loading:

Mast structure is desgned to sustain an assumed maximum reaction arising from wind speed as per IS 875 (Part 3) 1987 (three seconds gust) which is measured at a height of 10mtrs above ground level. Standard masts are suitable for wind speen of 180 mtrs above ground level. Standard masts are suitable for a wind speed of 180 kms/hour (62 M/Sec.)

Accessories :

High mast is provided with accessories as per customer requirements. Generally these include a raising and lowering system (R & L) with 2 or 3 point suspension system, trailing cable, power tool, feeder pillar for automatic switching operation of luminaries, lighting finial and aviation obstruction warning light.

The R & L system comprises of a duble drum winch, SS (Stainless Steel) wire ropes, head frame and lantern carriage. The winch is self-lubricating and self-sustaining type. It does not require any brake or clutch and has a lifting copacity of 350 - 750 Kgs and gear ratio is 50 : 1.

The wire ropes are of stainless steel grade AIS1316 with minimum 6mm diameter and 7/19 construction. Its central core is also SS and has a breaking strength of 2350 Kgs. The power tool is integral/external type sitable for handling the total head load. It has a mechanical torque limiter (optional) to ensure safety and a manual handle is also provided. It is suitable for use in open areas, airports, railway stations. road junctions, container yards etc.
